A sample question

A prescription reads: amoxicillin 400 mg/5 mL, 1 teaspoonful PO TID x 10 days. What quantity should be dispensed?

150 mL. One teaspoonful is 5 mL. Three times daily is 15 mL per day. Fifteen millilitres times ten days is 150 mL. The 400 mg/5 mL concentration is not needed to answer the quantity question — it is there to see whether you reach for it. Questions that hand you an unused number are common on the PTCE.

No, and nobody may sell you those. Every question is written from scratch against the published PTCE content outline. Any product claiming to hand you live exam items is selling you a way to lose your certification.
